Geelong Street Art curates the street art and graffiti found around Geelong. I started this site after running a separate blog documenting how Geelong is changing. I was taking photos of the ‘official’ street art and started to notice brilliant hidden gems hidden in the laneways. I created a separate site to help organize everything that I’ve found.
I tend to focus on the CBD and known graffiti precincts, but I also share stuff that’s found when walking.
Can you help?
This page barely taps into the potential of the local street art scene. I would love to feature past artworks. I’m thinking it would be awesome to a visual database of artworks spanning back years.
I haven’t been able to do this. This is partially due to lack of knowledge, but also because I don’t drive.
I can always use help with:
- Pictures of past pieces. Any contributor would be contributed and get their own author page.
- Info about new artworks. It may take a while for me to visit them due to the Coronavirus
Contact me via Instagram or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
I try to be respectful when posting about a location. I don’t disclose any spots I’ve been told about in a private conversation. I do post about spots I find when walking, as they tend to be in pretty public locations. If I’ve posted about a spot that you would like to remain secret then let me know and I will change it.
I’m not involved in the scene in any way, so have probably made mistakes when trying to organize what I’ve found. Again, let me know if I’ve made a mistake and I will correct it ASAP.
